Matthew is a business-oriented legal counsel with broad experience in dispute resolution/litigation and in providing practical day-to-day guidance and support through all phases of business operation and growth.
He offers business clients the type of customized, integrated, and strategic services traditionally available only to large companies with in-house counsel (a role he previously held). He enjoys building relationships with his clients and tailoring his advice according to their particular challenges, values, and goals.
Prior to his legal career, Matthew studied law at the University of Alberta and in The Netherlands, worked as a lifeguard and in university administration. Before Law, he studied English Literature, Computing Science, Music, and Philosophy. He sits on the Board of several non-profit and charitable organizations. Matthew loves swimming, riding his bike to work, cheering for the Oilers, and spending time with his wife and two little kids.
